FEATURED ARTIST: Anna Blessmann and Peter Saville
Anna Blessmann and Peter Saville met in Berlin in 2001, and soon began to collaborate on works that have been shown at: Paul Stolper Gallery, London, CRAC Alsace, Migros Museum, Zurich, and Whitechapel Gallery, London. They currently live and work together in London.
Blessmann’s work has had solo shows at Gallery Achim Kubinski, Berlin and Reinhard Hauff, Stuttgart. Saville founded the Factory Records label and created album covers for Joy Division and New Order, amongst others.
In their series “Art Accessories” Blessmann and Saville explore themes of collection, the museum, and the art object through the use of museological display elements. By bringing focus to these often-unnoticed components of a museum, the artists’ recreation of place holding cards introduces an opportunity for any setting to become the location of a collection.
