WEEK 12
Before moving further with stop motion, I decided to check if my idea works the way I wanted and overall how it looks. I used roto brush tool in After Effects to remove the background, and surprisingly it was easier than I thought, because it automatically finds the object, the only thing I just needed to add some strokes with this brush tool to add more or less desired area. We still have one and a half week before submission, so I will add here my further thoughts later.
Finished the animation and can now discuss the whole process, while it was quite fast forward and easy for me to animate with oil pastels, later when I added details in TV Paint and exported it without background and with all settings for transparency, still it had black background when editing in After Effects, so I had to remove background twice while working on this project which was a bit annoying as there was a time when the tool just didn’t work the way it supposed to. I tried to make camera movement in the last scene with effect of zooming out on a forest adding more plants around, but it also didn’t turn out how I wanted. All the sounds I used are mine, except music. And overall based on all my work throughout 2nd trimester, I wished I could feel better and made more effort into everything, especially my observational drawings, even tho I attended additional sessions, I didn’t spend enough on drawing buildings and streets which I regret, but lesson learned and I’m looking forward to growing my skills throughout the summer and hopefully gaining some work experience!
