Que onda?
Took a short break from lettering, but I’m back and ready to continue drawing, animating and translating! I’m kicking off the week with a phrase that’s great for when you just want to wave hello and say “what’s up!”

Futura Type Specimen
Evaluation
This project has gone very well overall and I am left with an engaging motion typography piece on a subject that I find very interesting. I've always thought about animating 'The Strangest Secret' so in a lot of ways this project was a personal project. This was a great opportunity to flesh out my kinetic typography and motion graphics skills.
The only glaringly obvious problem I had was needing to cut video in order to make the deadline, however, this was wasn't an entirely negative thing. I learned that it is a good idea to have a flexible plan with backups incase things don't go as expected which can be quite frequent when dealing with videos, vfx and motion graphics. Whilst I was doing my 3D tracking project that ran in parallel to this project I created a plan that would end up saving me a lot of headache and panic. I decided that I wasn't able to complete the tracking project in a set amount of time then I would cut down on the motion typography project. I sort-of decided this before finalising the decision with Rosie; I worked on sections that would be critical for both plan A (complete every section) and plan B (complete less sections) by first focusing on the sections for plan B. This meant in either situation, I would not have spent time and effort creating something I would have to cut down the line. It was a valuable lesson to create plans that intertwine with their backup plans.
I also achieved some goals of having some engaging transitions between sections and interesting ways to convey meaning using movement. I think a transition that stands out to me is when sequence 7 compresses itself to form the key ring hole for the key that then expands to form the key for section 8.
I don't really feel any negativity towards this project. It was rewarding and quite fun to see my animation develop and finalise with something I'm very familiar with that hasn't been visualised before. I can't wait to create the missing sequences and upload a longer video to YouTube to where I hope it'll draw some nice attention. In conclusion, This project went well and I am pleased with the end result.
