i was feeling very fucked up and depressed last night, and i just started sobbing for no good reason. Bree was idling nearby, and the MOMENT she spotted i was in distress, she immediately padded up to me, curled against my chest, and plopped her little body up against me, purring up a storm.
she let me cry into her fur for a full 10 more minutes, before i finally managed to calm down. not moving, just purring and occasionally licking away my tears.
i love my baby so much. we don't deserve pets that love us so much, but we've got them.

Cat: comes out of nowhere and wants up, immediately positions himself so the side of his body is against my ear where I can hear and feel his purring (which he never does around me, mind you).
I find myself able to breathe a little easier, enough to get through my bedtime routine.
