I'm a few days late for #internationalcatday but a few days ago we said goodbye to Melody (left) and Harmony(right), the two sweet sisters we were fostering. We got to spend 4 wonderful weeks with them. We watched them become healthier and grow everyday. It's so weird to see how much they changed in such a short period of time. Little Melody went from at tiny 260g scared kitten who barely had the energy to move or eat to an 860g playful, curious, cuddly and loving kitten. Harmony never had much of problem with her weight (she always had a 200-300g lead on her sister!) but she changed too! She went from scared, hissy, and totally untrusting to a crazy little thing who loved cuddles on her own terms! Her face started out really sweet looking, then she had a grumpy face stage, and now her face is all sweet again. All in just 4 weeks! Whoever adopts them will be so so happy. I'm really hoping they're adopted together like Forrest and Gump were, but either way I know they'll adjust to their new homes quite quickly. They're absolute sweethearts. It's so hard to say goodbye to these girls but we're so lucky to be part of their lives for a short time. It was so special to witness such huge changes in them, physically and behaviorally. It feels so wonderful to earn their trust. With a lot of love and patience, they really trust that they're safe with you and that you're there for them when they need you, meowing for meals and coming to you for love and cuddles. Fostering is such a gift, both for the animals you care for and you as well! 

Important life update. This little guy will be living with us for about the next two months as a foster. He was picked up as a stray and best guess had been hit by a car. You can see both his back legs have been stitched up. He's only 7 weeks old. The shelter posted a picture of him and said they were struggling to find him a foster home. What with the pandemic, I just happen to be working from home, so I decided I'd give fostering a try. Little man is a bit wobbly on those back legs. He's getting these sutures out on Monday, but has another surgery in 2 weeks. But he's still managed to explore the whole bathroom already. He's very playful and affectionate and a bit chatty. We'll be hanging out mostly in the bathroom for the first two weeks as a safety precaution to protect Oliver and Tess against any bugs this guy might have picked up in the shelter. And also to give Oliver time to get used to another cat on his turf. Yesterday there was some cordial sniffing under the door and solid effort to steal a toy, but this morning he was a little more grumbly about the situation. I think he'll get over it though. 🐱💕 We said goodbye to Pretty Mama last week and now she's looking for her forever home. She's such a beauty, I think she'll be scooped up pretty quick! Her 7 babies are missing her but adjusting pretty well. But I'm trying to deal with her babies nursing on their siblings! Anyone have any tips for this? They keep trying to nurse on the little black kitten and now she's trying to nurse on herself! Fostering kittens has been quite the learning experience! Lots of cleaning, lots of trying to find them all in all their hiding spaces, and lots of butt baths! But lots of cuddles and laughs to! I knew fostering 7 kittens was going to be difficult but I didn't realize it would be this hard! Its so rewarding though. I think we'll be taking a little break after this litter is gone. 7 kittens in 500 sq ft is A LOT!
