Thinking about sharing the interview with YSST producer Kiyoshi Tsukamoto from Animage magazine's May 2026 issue. I'm just not sure if I should translate the entire interview or summarize the content. I won't post the actual pages since I don't want to get into possible legal trouble, but I think talking about it should be ok.
This interview is a little more interesting than the one Tsukamoto gave in January, and all but confirms Gai's (pretty quick) return. Then again, did anyone actually think Gai wouldn't be back? He also talked about how long YSST had been in development for (approximately 5 years) and how the idea was conceived in the first place. Apparently, their target audience was originally supposed to be elementary and middle-school aged boys, but we know how that ended up.
There's some discussion about the Ten Braves too; what inspired their designs and the role they will play in the 2nd cour. Tsukamoto said that the First Name Group will be rivals to the troopers (the exact same dynamic as in Cour 1 for each member of both groups) and that we will get to see more of their background; both First Name and Last Name groups.
I'll probably post the interview by the end of the week/weekend once I decide how. I'm not suggesting we believe everything the producer said (we should keep expectations low by now), but it's cool to get a heads up on what might happen in Cour 2.
