Lasagne For Three? || Jennifer, Cora & Derek

The aftermath of a tragedy always left a vacuum for the opportunistic to make use of. The wake of the Earthquake heralded her first sacrifice and she’d made excellent progress since then. This time around, she intended to make headway in another avenue that interested her: The Hales. Both brother and sister had gained her attention and after her oh-so helpful actions at the Opera House she suspected now was the opportune time to insert herself into their little world. Given how barded that gate-way was to do so would be no mean feat. But she had plans for Derek and Cora may be just the key she needed to get close to the Alpha.
So she’d baked a lasagne; an odd weapon of choice to be sure but the best way to a were’s heart was via their stomach. Shifting worked up quite the appetite, and she’d wager both Hales were far too preoccupied to think of cooking after their ordeal. Thanks to Mr McCall she knew the location of the Hale loft and had driven over with fresh bread bought that morning, two bottles of chilled non-alcoholic fruit cocktail and a still steaming lasagne just out of the oven. She juggled the lot and with some effort made her way to the front door and rang the bell.
She needn’t wait too long before the younger Hale appeared in the doorway.
“Cora, hi.” she said, smiling softly, “I’m sorry to bother you guys, but umm... I have food! I mean umm...” she tripped over her words easily and cleared her throat before trying again, her smile growing a little more nervous as she, she’d practiced in the car, “I just though you and Derek might not have had time to go shopping after... everything and might be hungry?” she trailed off lamely, “So... yea...”
