I saw a video on Instagram of a young girl performing on a talent show. Later, someone in the comments shared her account, and when I checked it, I saw she had grown and changed, and in many ways. In that moment, I realized that version of her is gone forever. She will never be the girl in that video again.
It struck me how this is true for everyone around us. The people we know, the people we love they will never be this version of themselves again. And it made me think that this fleeting nature of life calls for more love and appreciation, not just for them, but for ourselves too.
We will never be the exact product of the unique combination of elements that surround us right now, the place we’re in, the people around us, the chemistry in our brains. Every moment is ephemeral. We can’t hold onto it forever, but we can honor it by letting go, and by embracing who we are in this very instant
