We give our kids so many toys techcentric because we feel some sense of belonging and a want. Computers, webcams, cell phones, and high-end gaming consoles, messaging, and WI-FI capabilities are very popular tag .. Many of us can dare take our children to use good discernment in these hi-tech tools. Often this assumption is wrong. Recently in the news with many crimes committed by young people using the computer and the network. Terrible crimes, including murder, as was the Columbine massacre and the murder of Kara Borden parents, her boyfriend David Ludwig. These events beg for an answer to the question: How well do you know what your children doing? I will try and inform parents of some activities and places young people caught in the net, and exactly what is going on there. One of the most popular here in California is a site called My Space www.myspace.com. Parents must be aware that the site a place where many of the sexual activity occurs, is known from the net as cybersex. The chat C word boy or girl at My Space. Pedophiles usually lurk around sites like these, masking as a fellow teen, and even before, a female, if they in fact are male. It's just too easy, and so many children, for whatever reason, willing to engage in such conduct. Other sites such as Habbo Hotel, Delphi Forums, and Talk City allow minors on site with adult romance chat, bi and gay chat rooms and other open sexual forums. You may think that if your child is not on the net, but just with a text-messenging mobile phone, it safe from both predators and unwanted behaviors. Add a camera to the phone, and you have a tool mean the trouble is. Everything from swapping nude or explicit photos, the criminals access to your house and children. These camera phones in all federal and government buildings are banned, and here in our school district are mobile phones in school time allowed. Webcams in the hands of young people is so risky, I can not believe parents allow them. It was a terrible case recently where a young 8-year-old was accidentally left on his webcam and was a known pedophile all the while the matter was looked connected. If we prevent more children from injury, or indulge in risky behaviors, you have to be extremely aware of exactly where to go and what they do. It is certainly not assume that our children be able to exercise the right decisions about the Internet, especially given the fact that so many adults can not or do not. Bottom line, neither you nor your child does not really know who many of the people they are really just to be online. And we as parents have the right to our children responsible for us to do what they are. And legally liable to you, the parent company for criminal acts committed your child, especially if you as a responsible parent to act. Before another high-tech purchase to make for your child, ask yourself if it is really needed, or even better it is for sure. Enable you to give your child to the peer pressure, your child or others at risk. Is it really worth it?
