9. Favorite concert you’ve attended?

It probably should be the show where I worked as a roadie for Saves the Day, but that night is about so much more than just the concert itself. So for one judging just based off the concert portion, Saves the Day’s acoustic holiday shows at Asbury Lanes on December 20, 2013. Great vibe, great performance, great setlist, it’s one I’ll never forget.

10. Most underrated musician in your opinion

I mean...I’m pretty sure every artist I listen to is underrated, lol. I’m going to say Candy Hearts. Just about every song was a true bop and Mariel Loveland is such a terrific lyricist, I just feel like the pop punk scene found her too girly and the emo scene found her too pop punk. 

23. A song by an artist with a voice that you love?

“Our Choice” by the Early November. Ace’s got an amazing voice and I love how he goes from smooth into a near breakdown near the end. He’s got so much range.

28. Put your music app on shuffle.. what is the 1st song?

7. earbuds or headphones:

I think a really nice set of headphones would be my favorite, but I always use earbuds because I can put them in my pocket.

19. sleeping position: 

I’m a stomach sleeper, for sure. That’s easiest for me to fall asleep, at least. Then I tend to wake up in other positions though. 

34. advertisements you have stuck in your head?:

Liberty liberty liiiiiiberty liiiiiiiiiberty 

56. favorite tradition:

When my family would go to Ocean City MD every summer when I was a kid. It was the same every summer. We’d drive down on a Monday and swim at the hotel and walk the boardwalk and eat at a random beach restaurant, wake up early Tuesday and ride bikes on the boardwalk, spend the day at the beach, and go eat dinner at the Outback across the street from the hotel, wake up Wednesday and eat breakfast at Dough Rollers, then spend the rest of the day at the State Fair before going home. I miss that.

69. a fun fact that you don’t know how you learned?:

As I mentioned before, a rough one. I’ve been blanking, I kinda remember how I learn most things, because it’s the story behind a piece of information that helps me remember it.

Joyce Manor: I first found Joyce Manor on Tumblr, actually, where somebody posted a link to (illegally! scandalous!) download Of All Things I Have Grown Tired, which I decided to check out on a whim. I liked it! Barry’s voice was really fascinating to me, and it was catchy, and I listened to it plenty but never checked out the rest of their catalog. Years later I eventually found a link to “Stairs” when it was first released and checked it out and fell in love, so I downloaded Cody and again immediately fell in love with a way I hadn’t before, so from there I became a big fan of the band, started seeing them live, downloaded their back catalog, etc. etc. 

Baby's First Pride yesterday in DC! Watching from an air conditioned comic shop with a bunch of fellow snarky queer nerds was an A+ choice.

Featuring: friends, my greatest role model Daria, 90s Superboy, gay dog, gay Mario, and a fuckin' gay McDonalds float, which is the most patently ridiculous thing I've ever seen in my life. Huge thanks to @angrypedestrian for the invite!
