Barry hadn’t realized how tired he was. Perhaps he didn’t eat enough for lunch. Though, three pizza pies seemed like a lot. It wasn’t the work load, it never was. Dr. Stein was a genius and Barry was always happy to be working alongside such a brilliant mind. And yet, here they were, walking down the hallway and yawning three times within a minute. Tonight, Barry was going to head home and sleep right when he walked in. Speedster or not, he still needed a decent amount of sleep. If Caitlin could see his vitals, she probably would give him a lecture on his exhaustion levels.
“Any plans tonight, Dr. Stein?” Barry asks as he steps into the elevator and glances down to his watch. It was well after 8:00 p.m. He wondered if Iris was with Joe and Wally, or if she was at their loft. Yanking his phone out, Barry frowned somewhat. He was hoping for a missed call or a text from her, but there was nothing.
Just then he felt a quick jerk of a stop. Barry caught Martin’s glance before he too, looked at the top of the elevator. “For real?” Barry whined for a moment before he slipped his phone back into his pocket and let out a lengthy sigh. Lifting his hands, Barry used all his might and tried hard to pry the doors open, but they wouldn’t budge. “Alright, that didn’t work,” he groaned.
