Hour One

We were in a mood for celebration this week what with it being our 30th show! Alongside great new music both mainstream (Depech Mode) and exclusive to Insurgent Souls (Stuart Russell), we also threw in two classics from 30 years ago to mark the occasion. Cloud picked out Tangerine Dream's atmospheric Hyperborea, whilst Owl plumped for something closer to home with New Order's Blue Monday, one of the most popular records in the world and yet still not overplayed it's just that good! Throw in some classic dub, a pinch of new electronica and a dash of good ol' acid house and you have yourselves a tasty recipe for hour one.

Hour Two

In the second hour we went steaming off into full on celebratory party mode with an uptempo mix pulling together a funky fanfare of progressive house, dub and electronic dance designed to bring the joy we’ve been feeling since the show began last year. It starts slowly with a mesh of sounds from the International Space station whirling into more dubby chilled and blissful wonder; a chance to breathe before the beats kick in and take us away, feet caught in the groove as the body sways. Voices sing out celebrating from Foster the People, Stevie V and even some surprising vocal loveliness from the always amazing James Zabiela. In sum, this mix is our dedication to YOU, the listener.
