His hair was still dripping wet from the shower when he barged through the hospital doors, his blue eyes wide and manic as he searched for a hint of familiar among a sea of strangers. His skin crawled the way it always did when he found himself inside hospital walls, but Sawyer hardly seemed to notice as his frantic gait carried him deeper into the ward. Bypassing nurses, doctors, and family members of other patients scattered throughout the halls, he was largely oblivious to the hustle and bustle all around him and instead, only had one thought ringing over and over in his head— what the fuck had happened? They’d loaded up the guns, had a brief exchange with Otto, and then Sawyer had found himself at Remi’s side for the rest of the evening with the expectation that in the morning, the world would keep on spinning the way it always had. Not flip on its axis. But one phone call had changed all of that and Sawyer’s head hadn’t stopped spinning since.
Spotting Andy in the waiting room, he nodded at him and quickly made his way over to his side. “Hey, brother,” he murmured, reaching out to clap a hand on his shoulder. “Came as soon as I could.” Shaking his head, Sawyer faltered for a moment, unsure of what to say. What could he say to sum up everything screaming through his head? Swallowing hard, he glanced over at Andy, “What do we know?”
