At the expo the day before the marathon, I changed my corral number -- when I'd initially signed up, my predicted finish time was 5 hours, and I thought I'd trained enough to do it in at least 4:40.
So I ask the guy at the information desk whether changing corrals was a good idea. His reply, delivered with a creepily intense stare: "Well, that depends on if you want to push yourself. DO YOU WANT TO PUSH YOURSELF?!"
I think my reply was a small, timid, "Yes?"
This ended up being a hilariously misguided move, but more on that later.

I keep having anxiety dreams re: marathon. A couple of nights ago, I dreamed couldn't find my iPod, and I needed to find a store that was open at 6 a.m. to buy a new one, WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO IPOD-SELLING STORES ARE OPEN AT 6 A.M.?!
Last night, I had two marathon dreams: One that I forgot my bib and timing chip and so they wouldn't let me race, and another wherein I was late to the race because I had to keep visiting convenience store after convenience store to find orange Gatorade.
Twenty-oneish hours to go.
