Apprehension [Blitzcrank + Orianna]
Pa-choooom! Blitzcrank's fist went.
Woosh! It went over the target's head.
Foul language by the android's teammates followed.
Sadly, it was a pattern that continued for the rest of the match.
While they emerged victorious, it was far too close a match for anyone's taste.
Orianna, having witnessed the match before, approached Blitzcrank, the Ball not far behind before she balanced upon on foot casually.
“Blitzcrank, we have an observation that we wish to impart to you,” she asked with her head tilting to one side.
“Acknowledged,” Blitzcrank answered, “and permission granted. What is the nature of Orianna's observation?” “It is the result of both myself and The Ball's analysis of your performance. We have begun to assume that you require an update to your operation systems and the associated firmware updates. The last sojourn into the Fields of Justice left you with far too many missed shots of your Rocket Punch. The resulting crude statements by your teammates is proof of this.”
“Acknowledged,” he repeated.
“Yet, this is not the first time this has happened,” Orianna pressed further. “Is there a reason for your refusal to update your software so you may increase your performance?”
“Blitzcrank has an answer in the form of a question,” he answered back mechanically, “does Orianna and The Ball require such updates?”
The ballerina shook her head. “Negative. The clockwork mechanisms and hextech batteries that power both myself and The Ball are incompatable with modern systems used for substitutiary locomotion of artificial lifeforms.”
“Blitzcrank has an additional question, does Orianna and The Ball understand what goes into the aforementioned updates?”
“Negative.”
“It is better Orianna and The Ball does not.” Blitzcrank answered. “Until Blitzcrank can render their own software future proof, Blitzcrank will continue to operate under previously establish perimeters using the original software at the time of Blitzcrank's creation.”
“Why do you fear the updates? Is there an inherent danger or perhaps probable loss of character or personality with the updates?”
The steam golem said nothing.
“Do you know what happens when your software is updated?”
A long moment passed before he answered.
“No.”
Orianna blinked before she continued. “If that is the case, then why hesitate?”
Another pause. “Blitcrank is... scared.”
The answer took Orianna off guard and she tilted her head. She was about to scold her fellow automation when The Ball beeped something in a frequency only she could hear and understand.
Her own voice was then lost as The Ball placed a scenario she had yet to consider. After another moment of silence, she nodded and whispered, “Acknowledged.”
