au where mc is an android built by her mother in place of her daughter who died tragically young.

agent mom used Special Technology™ she'd gotten from Olympus to build her so that she could grow like humans do

Josh comes around to her bc he's such a big brother and existing isnt Her Fault. her dad never really comes around, but at least she has mom and josh 🙂‍↕️

original mc didn't have Much in the way of a personality bc she was so little, so android mc is a blank slate given the chance to grow into her own person. notably she does not know about human mc, though, as no one talks about her. any pictures she might see of human mc, she believes those are Her.

she befriends alex when agent mom starts bringing her around H.E.R.A., and Aphrodite is.... nice, but distant. Although that's probably just how gods are, if she thinks about it. So it doesn't bother here in the few instances of meeting her.

when agent mom inevitably dies, she doesn't understand what happens bc it's the first time death has touched her life at all. and when she finally DOES understand that mom isn't coming back and that she's gone, she has such a massive breakdown that she has to be forcibly shut down by josh for awhile

which destroys him too bc that's his sister...... and all he has left of their mom.... bc dad isn't going to stick around anymore

she comes back online years later and the gap in her memories is explained away by her experiencing depression, and how depression affects a person's memory, and Josh Is So Glad She's Feeling Better (but why does he look so Sad all the time??)

BUT! if her big brother says she's feeling better than she must be, right? so she goes with it!

and starts re-figuring out her life and takes a couple of years to adjust, wherein her body finishes growing up and she matures at an accelerated rate so she catches up on what she missed in the time of her shutdown

and then she still winds up working at H.E.R.A. and falling in love with alex (sue me) who has also since fallen in love with her

and other conflict she has to face in addition to the canon ones are

learning she was a replacement for someone that died

learning that her family has lied to her for years and years and that's why her dad never got close to her

learning that she's not human or monster or god, but a robot

learning that she was shut down after her mother's death for years, and that coming back online was thanks to a safety protocol her mother (her maker?) had installed in her, not because anyone else turned her back on

learning she's made of stolen olympian goods that someone- hephaestus?- wants back <3 -zeus/the gods cracking down even harder on her for harboring Hera's soul, because Hera cannot possibly be alive inside of a MACHINE that cannot even hold its OWN soul (yay more trauma!!!!) and demanding her destroyed and taken apart so they can return Hera to the reincarnation cycle and get their property back

struggling to wonder if her love is Real or if it's just in her programming (especially after aphrodite makes a comment about how agent mom always said her and alex would end up together) (side note: alex Will be able to comfort her through this and prove it. maybe they Open Their Eyes and tell her that they can See her love for them, they can almost Feel It as a physical force)

learning why aphrodite never checked up on her after her mother's death (she was shut down!!!! and aphrodite still hadn't fully come around to her, which changes during alex's route)

learning how to properly grieve without putting people around her in danger <3

other things for this au

alex learns a lot of mechanical skills and had taken on more jobs for hephaestus to learn such things so that they can help MC when she gets hurt or systems overheat or overload or whatever

alex's hands inside of her, tangled in her wires.......... #wireplay

mc's baking journey started with full precision of ingredients and time, she followed Every Recipe To The T. but as she gets comfortable with herself, she starts experimenting on her own adds personal touches that prove she's not "just" anything 🙂‍↕️

her body runs a little warm and alex loves to snuggle with her on cold new york days <3

her and josh have some long talks about their relationship and mc comes out of them understanding him more, and understanding that he does actually truly consider her his sister
