input needed from queer jews
i'm trying to make a new tumtum flag since the current one doesn't seem right to me, here's my proof of concept
symbolism behind it: the blue and white stripes on the side obviously represent judaism, and reference tzitzit specifically. i chose to reference tzitzit because i wear my grandfather's, and see it as a representation of tradition and our ancestors. the broad white stripe in the middle is to make it look more like traditional jewish embroidery.
the broad grey stripes represent tumtum identity, as grey is an "ambiguous lack of colour" the same way tumtum people ambiguously lack identifiable male or female characteristics.
my idea for this would be that the grey in my tumtum flag could be substituted for other colours to represent the other classical jewish sexes/gender falling outside the current western binary (ideas: pink for saris, blue for ay'lonit, purple for androgynos?)
i would like any input y'all might have on this!
