Edinburgh Festivals Diary - Day 6
A day off from flyering today! and I was determined to make the most of it! Our day started off a little dull with a physio trip for Stuart, but the good news is that his back is now feeling better! We rushed into town to try and make The Third Annual Black Comedy Showcase, and were lucky enough to just make it in time!! The compare, Che Burnley, was hilarious! but the three comedians on the line-up did not really do it for me. They weren't bad persay, but for me, were not anything special. After the show, we wandered up to Dovecot to check out The Grayson Perry exhibition: Julie Cope's Granr Tour. It was beautiful, captivating, and well worth the visit. Even more so due to the Dazzle jewellery exhibition being on at the same time! We then treated ourselves to a little dessert from Smoov! Before heading off to The Liquid Rooms to meet Rosie, and Aeryn to see the wonderful Andrew O'Neill and his show We Are Not in the Least Afraid of Ruins; We Carry a New World in Our Hearts... which was hilarious, and on point with my current feelings towards this world, especially on the notes of Climate Change. WE ARE THE MAGPIES. Dinner was had in the beautiful setting of Abbatoir, and a refreshing gin and tonic was well received! We parted ways with Rosie and Aeryn, and headed off to the beautiful Piccolo tent to see Tilda Swinton Answers an Ad on Craigslist. I have not laughed that much in such a long time! My love for Tilda Swinton drew me in, and I am so glad it did, as this show was completely fantastic! We then rushed off to The Assembly Rooms on George Street to see The Best of Cabaret, where we were entertained with burlesque, magic, and a beautiful woman playing a saw! A fitting end to our Fringe-filled day!! Perfect.
