ââââââ âž they hadnât meant to crash: he knows this. just like he knows they hadnât bothered to close the blinds before theyâd fallen asleep, the evening outside a mess of glittering lights, or that they hadnât bothered to drink the coffee theyâd brewed earlier, either. the two mugs sit untouched on the neilâs bare-boned night stand. a waste of beans, a waste of time.
andrew pushes himself up onto his elbows, still weighted with sleep. there is only so much time they can spend together during the season; neil on one team, andrew on another. itâs almost a shame, in a distant sort of way, to come all this way just to end up sleeping through it. he turns to glance at neil, only to see neilâs eyes open and on him.
andrew takes a beat to admire the shadows dancing across the angles of his cheeks, his nose, his brow bones. then he pulls the covers over neilâs head. âyour face is an affront to humanity.â
