Chanukah wasn't as devoutly celebrated by her sisters as it once was, but for the second year since they'd found their way back into the fold, Annaki had insisted that the quadruplets should all get together for a mini feast and a lighting of the candles. It was quiet, which was all they could ask for, and there weren't any arguments to be had when Cyrek was sorely preoccupied by the other families he was split between. ( Everyone wanted the attention of their big brother, and no one could argue that it saved Atticus and Avgi from butting heads with him. )
However, they had overdone it this year, and there was too much food leftover, that they had offered to take the leftovers down to Henderson and out of the fridge to be delivered to their sister's now former roommate. It was nice to see that they were making a life for themselves — the house didn't seem shabby, and it was out of the way, perking up wonderment of whether it was any kind of future that the ticket taker could aspire for where Samantha was concerned.
Smiling when the door opened, it fell away quickly, comfortable with assuming the resting phlegmatic expression that succeeded mingling with others. "Hi. Annaki and I thought this would be a nice housewarming gift... I'm guessing you two are finding yourself short on time with the gift-shopping rush of the season and shit." Holding out the basket stuffed full of tupperware, they added, "Just, like, return the plastic ware when you can, yeah? I'm going to be the one pulling my hair out if I have to help Annaki look for a whole other set. Oh, and I have another gift, too... I had a cab drop me, so I shoved it in this basket somewhere. Mind if I come in?"
