A HEADCANON FOR ANY BBC SHERLOCK FANS STILL OUT IN THE WILD.
And that headcanon is that John Watson was literally considered an “angel of death” in the military. He wasn’t known for his brute strength or intellect or high body count but for how he continuously brought men back from the dead. Literally. Someone could be on the brink of death, everyone says leave them but John somehow manages to save them.
Many men are alive today because he brought them back. Enemy forces called him “The Doctor”, or worse, “The Corspesman.” In fact, that’s mostly the topic during therapy sessions about his status and role in the military and his journey of healing from his PTSD. But among comrades, he was a miracle worker. A saint, if you will.
And now I bring to the table of the idea that once, during their time together, Sherlock ended up dying. Literally. There was supposed to be no hope for him. And guess who not only called the paramedics and managed to keep him stable until they got there but when his heart stopped, restarted it on his own using their equipment? JOHN FUCKING WATSON.
There is so much potential around the fact that he was in the military and a doctor because he could easily be such a cold character if it was used right.
