Anya Diggory
( and Connor)
"Anya is like a classical melody carrying through a summer’s sigh" - @creampuffcloudsdreaming
General Info
Anya is a year younger than our main cast, aims to be a professional singer and loves mooncalves more than anything. She also loves watching Quidditch and even plays herself in her seventh year (Seeker).
For a Hufflepuff she is surprisingly ambitious, striving to be the best in everything she takes up. That's why she takes part in nearly every club Hogwarts has to offer, be it gobstones, summoner's court, Crossed Wands, chess or the Frog Choir. In the latter, she becomes responsible for coaching the newcomers and sort them based on voice range. During summer, she also has professional singing lessons.
All this means she barely has a second to herself, always either working for school, the extracurriculars or being out with friends.
Fun facts:
always has cold hands
steals lends her friends' sweaters and collects them in her bed, where she sleeps between them like in a nest

Family:
She was born as Anastasia Diggory on the 18th of June 1876. Her mother and older sibling lovingly call her Nastya, while her father prefers to call her Anya. As she grew up, she started introducing herself that way, too.
The Diggorys are a an old pureblood family., however, they, like the Weasleys, are accounted as "blood traitors" by the more traditional familys.
Her father Lucas Diggory oversees the floo network at the ministry and spends his free time gardening.
Her mother Daria Diggory (neé Belova) worked in the same departement in the russian ministry and they met while negotiating possible connections between the countries. After they got married, they moved to a lovely village in Devon named Ottery St. Catchpole.
Anya has an older sibling named Connor. They are generally close, even though she was a menace of a younger sister through most of their childhood, always trying to get Connor's attention. Connor on the other hand always felt a strong protectiveness and affection for their sister.
When they were still small children, she asked them to try her self made mud soup and started crying when they faked it, resulting in Connor feeling bad enough to actually eat it. This event is one of the earliest memories for both of them.
Throughout their childhood, this behaviour from Anya would continue, knowing that she could get anything she wanted from her sibling if she only pouted enough.
Meanwhile, Connor turned out to be a golden child: always listening, following rules, excelling at studies with ease while still being well loved by their peers. The pride that was constantly displayed by their parents resulted in Anya feeling a need to prove that she's just as good, which is the reason for her ambitious study plan. While she still adored Connor, she came to resent them a bit for their apparent perfection that seemed to set the standards for her.
However, the siblings relationship changed when Connor turned 13. By then, they finally dare to voice their struggle with gender identity, which started basically as soon as they entered puberty. Connor is non-binary, which took them a while to figure out and some more time to connect this new identity with the one he had for the longest time (as the firstborn son and as an older brother, which are both roles that come with a lot of expectations). Connor goes by he/him mostly, for convenience (and they don't care about pronouns that much either way), but that naturally takes away credibility when they try to explain their gender indentity. When Hogwarts supported them by letting them access the girl's dormitories as well as the boy's ones (which they could do from their first year on), Connor was incredibly happy and relieved.
Anya is the first person Connor confides in, which makes her realise that even her "perfect brother" had struggles. She is very open minded, accepting them without a second thought and doing her best to adjust the way she talks about them, even when Connor insists she doesn't have to. This conversation is healing for both of them, helping them to find back to the close relationship they had as children.
Connor loves to meddle in Anya's love life, partly out of protectiveness, partly because they still love to annoy each other.
The siblings occasionally talk to the portrait of Eldritch Diggory, who is very proud of his great (great great)-grandchildren. The two also spent their childhood often visiting their granduncle and aunt Eddie and Helen Thistlewood and still have close relationships with them, resulting in many weekend visits while they're at Hogwarts.
Friendships
Inner circle:
Edmund Darborne (by @creampuffcloudsdreaming )
Tobias Ardis (by @amus2110 )
Her two closest friends. She meets them in her first year while they both serve detention when she wants to ask Professor Weasley about her homework. She ends up joining in their conversation and the three of them hit it off. You rarely see one without the other two, with Anya & Tobi giving Mund safety and cheering him up, Anya & Mund helping Tobi with his studies and Tobi & Mund making sure Anya takes time off to relax.
Kalomira Kratides
Kit Lawless
Both girls are classmates of Anya and her closest female friends. Kira is just smart as her, but in different subjects, which means they can learn from each other. Kit is more carefree and loves gossiping. She drags the other two girls along to every party. They never rest, but laugh a lot together.
Phineas Black II
One of her oldest, but most unlikely friendships. They share a music teacher as kids and get along well. Since the Diggorys are purebloods (even though they're not as well respected anymore), Black sees no harm in allowing hos son to be friends with her. This results in Anya spending time at Grimmauldplace during many summers.
Arsonus Ardis (by @shanethehufflepuff )
Tobi's baby cousin that Anya totally adopted. He causes trouble and she smiles because he's adorable. (Don't worry, she will step in before he hurts himself or others)
Outer circle:
Through her many hobbies, she meets many students and makes friends with nearly everyone.
Relationships:
Adair Wood (by @moonstonesandemma )
She met him when she was studying on the Quidditch ranks during Gryffindor's training. He came over to her afterwards and started flirting. Since her room mates kept bugging her over her lack of romantic relationships, she thought she might as well go along with it. What she didn't expect was to actually fall for him, but it's what happens. She is self confident enough to handle the inevitable heartbreak, but forever keeps a soft spot in her heart for him as her first love.
Tobias Ardis
After the breakup, she is being comforted a lot by her friends, especially him. She eventually starts seeing him in a new light. He has been in love with her basically since they met and would gladly accept a change in their relationship. But as close as they are, every hint they give about their feelings is interpreted as the usual behaviour of a close friend. The people around them - especially Connor - aren't as blind and go nearly insane watching them dance around it.
After Hogwarts
Her career is less glamorous than she thought, as she ends up working for the ministry (in the animagi registration). She still keeps her love of music and singing.
