when i was younger there was seriously nobody, no big headcanon or character, who was aroace, or even just one of those. i was fourteen googling ace characters, the list was short and the only one i even knew was Spongebob. i love the guy but i was looking for something different there. now to see such a big movie, such a known character, be widely headcanoned as aroace, not even just one of those but aro and ace, it just makes me feel really happy and seen and im so proud of that and to know too that im definitely not the only one feeling this. if you're aro spec ace spec queer in general i see you and you aren't the only one who feels like this. we've all tried to find someone who matches how we feel and to see a VERY widely known movie have one of its biggest headcanons be that the main guy is aroace? just gives me some extra hope. it's not the same as if it were canon, but it hits so different to see that be a large head canon.
also, i'm a huge space and science nerd and i love that he's relatable that way too, plus he has a deep bond with rocky and it never shys away from showing care but also shows that a friendship can Be that powerful that strong that Important, sometimes moreso than a romantic relationship!!
