I just finished This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab, and oh my god, it astounds me how much love and respect I have for this woman. I’ve read a bunch of her books - The Archived was my first Schwab book, followed by A Darker Shade of Magic then Vicious and now, This Savage Song.

I adore this author and all she’s written, I freaking swear. If you look at my favourites shelf in my bookshelf, you’d see ADSOM, AGOS, Vicious and now This Savage Song there - followed by Alexandra Bracken’s Passenger, Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn trilogy and The Way of Kings, Marissa Meyer’s The Lunar Chronicles, Matthew Quick’s Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock and Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows.

That aside; this book was freaking amazing. The world wasn’t extremely fresh, I’ll admit, it’s basically a run-of-the-mill dystopia world where violence breeds monsters, but isn’t that concept so cool? This was brilliant, I loved the tension, the action, the story, the characters. Agh. I could go on. This book was brilliant. I need the sequel.

The best thing about this book, for me, were the characters. For the past few months, all my favourite characters came from either comics, video games or anime, with the exception of characters from the Mistborn trilogy. But oh my gosh, I adore August Flynn with my whole being and Kate Harker is such a badass and I love Ilsa and Allegro and agh, this was wonderful.
