She imitated his crouch, well-practiced in avoiding the cameras. She kept behind him as he paused to survey around the corner. There wasn't much of an alternative, but she hoped she wasn't making a mistake by trusting him. His directions were simple enough- let him run distraction, and she'd follow after. He would have continued if it weren’t for the sudden elbow in his face. The core in his torso is startled, dropping Chell from his arms and stepping back. “-ow! I can feel that! Geez, I’m just tryin’ t’keep y’safe, gorgeous, I ain’t a turret!”
Ah, good. The elbow'd had the desired effect- her freedom. She nodded and ran her fingers through her hair anxiously, realizing that she shouldn't turn down any help, not in here, particularly not from someone so willing to go out of his way to protect her. Adventure, she figured, from the core and the accent. While he hadn't had the body last time she'd seen him, it suited him, and there was something else he'd said that bothered her. She looked at him skeptically. Him? Didn't he mean "Her"?
