Holiday story time! This story involves Mulder and Scully doing a lot of paperwork in the X-Files office, where it is very cold. That should not be interesting and insightful, but IT IS. They are so sweet in season 3. This story is a gorgeous study of Scully falling for Mulder or, really, of her having already fallen. There's astronomy and wine, dreams and stars, Mulder's couch and Mulder's bed. Favorite line: This story has so many great lines, like the one in the Summary, that I ended up choosing one of the many nearly at random. And she thought of how she missed him often when she knew he was asleep before her in the next room, or when she knew he wouldn't sleep in his dark next room, or when he was there awake and sleepy in her own room and she couldn't find it in her to just touch his knuckles with the mounts of her fingers and not let him leave.
