Beef 2023 by Lee Sung Jin should stay only what it is. Cus now people are going in like "omg more toxic romance <333" and it's gonna erase what amy and danny's stories were about. Theirs was striking, about race and specifically asian fetishisation, about generational poverty, immigration and class mobility, about how us education and therapy systems are at their core by and exclusively for white ppl, about wealthy/white entitlement, about misogyny as a woc, about the internalised racism and sexism that makes pocs in academia or artistic or entrepreneurial spaces hate and delegitamise themselves and their community for the favour of white counterparts, even white subordinates.
Ik the feeling of that deep solid void that sits in ur neck... that specific kind of depression and desperation... that insurmountable wall...that shrinking suffocating feeling when u really see the little the world has allowed u to have... you don't know it if your not a poor poc (and if u think u do, no u dont)
I don't want some other photogenic bickering couple with soulless engagement-bait "problems" to be in the same universe as Amy and Danny's story, put them elsewhere
