Why most people suck on Craigslist.
Today I was going to buy an Ampeg V2 (60W) with matching Cabinet from a guy in Lafayette, Colorado, for the ridiculously low price of $250.
I was the first to respond to his e-mail and he said that he would drive it up to me, as I responded within an hour of the AD posting.
I agreed, and I just decided to wait around all day for him.
I get an e-mail later saying that he cannot make it up, so if I could, I could come down and pick it up from him. Again, I agreed, and starting driving down around 3PM.
After I get on the highway, I recieve another e-mail from the guy saying that there was another person interested in the amp, and that he just got the e-mail a second ago. I responded, "I'm driving down right now, please make sure that you do not sell it before I get to at least try it out." No response.
After I get off on his exit, I get a call from him saying that someone just came by and bought the amp.
I was 10 minutes away from his house, and he ended the call with "Good luck finding another one."
I drove 80 miles, only to have this happen to me.
Figures.
