Amityville II: The Possession (1982)
That previous post made me take a look back at my own post from long ago where I thoroughly went over the "Amityville Horror" hoax, and at the end, I mentioned how "a 12th film in the franchise is due out in 2015".
Ten years later, there is now a total of at least 72 MOVIES with "Amityville" in their title.
All films using "Amityville" in the title. Also includes films that originally had "Amityville" in the title before being retitled.
The book and first movie were scary stories. The second and third films were also decent.
However, when you really think about it, it's kinda messed up that this massive franchise was spawned from the murder of a family.

Man, Beast or Demon? Itβs Loose in Amityville, Mysterious Apelike Marauder Raids Garage; Town on Guard
New York Herald Tribune. September 4, 1934. (Special to the Herald Tribune)
AMITYVILLE, L. I., Sept. 4β The mysterious animal, described by some as a large monkey, which was first seen in this section last week, paid a visit early this morning to the home of Mrs. Alfred C. Abernethy, of Bennett Place, South Amityville, tore a board off a garage window, upset trash cans, and left claw marks on an automobile in the garage. Tonight most of the male residents of the neighborhood are sitting on their porches waiting for the animal with shotguns, rifles, revolvers, and garden tools.
Those who have seen it describe it as being about the size of a gorilla, with immense, orang-outang-like arms. No man that walks like an ape is known to exist. Miss Madeline Abernethy, thirteen years old, was alone in the house when the animal appeared. She screamed for help, and the wild thing disappeared, leaving only footprints and claw marks.
