This breaks my heart. Bassist, Trevor Allen has died. One of the nicest cats and an incredible bassist. He called me for a gig last year with Kimberly Davis and it was so humbling and kind of him at a time when there was very little work and I was feeling depressed and listless about the meaning of my life and purpose. It was very uplifting to talk to him about the future of things to come and to just follow through best we can even with the lack or normalcy. Musicians are chosen family and Trevor was of the few musicians on the NYC music scene that I could talk to anywhere, anytime and it was like having a big brother for advice and encouragement. We only meet a handful of people that impact our lives in ways that make us want to be be better by seeing us for more than we see ourselves and he was one of those for me. We lost another universe and I’ll play some notes for you this week, Trev.
