Mulled Wine and Hot Cocoa - They say there’s nothing like sharing a warm drink by the fire the shake off any holiday ennui you might have. So grab a mug and a buddy, and toast to the quiet moments. They sit across from each other at the table, which would usually be far more comfortable than it feels tonight. Elincia's gaze is drawn to the personalities on either side of Micaiah. There's trouble in the air, so heavy it threatens to oppress her senses. She can only imagine how it feels for her friend. Elincia shoots her a sympathetic glance before getting up and walking to the other side of the table. "Care to join me for a glass of mulled wine by the fire? You deserve a moment of peace and quiet." Elincia already has two glasses in hand but she inclined her head to a table at the side of the room. "Or we could go for hot cocoa - as long as I get plenty of whipped cream on mine!”
Micaiah has dined like this before, but only the once after Daein’s celebration of independence; she supposes she is used to the flow of it— the appetizers, the conversations, and perhaps she should be taking notes seeing how well the Chalphys do it and how one day it will be she and their position but right now it is, a bit... well. Her gaze catches Elincia’s for perhaps the fourth time that night and she barely suppress a sigh. It is a bit stifling sitting between two men with over five centuries of history between them, and somehow when the conversation ebbs her going over the royal families of laguz, and their recent changes (while an important habit to upkeep) in her head does not bring her any peace.
Suffice to say when Elincia comes to her side, Micaiah, gazing up at her can imagine how the Queen’s people must see her — gallant and seraphic, an angel of protection who looks down from on-high with caring eyes.
She is also, as ever, Micaiah’s friend.
“I should like that very much,” she says, taking care not to rise too quickly and to say her goodbyes before following Elincia to a small coffee table closer to the fire. She does let out her sigh then, small as sit is, and laughs with a grateful glance back to Elincia as she reaches for one of the two glasses in the other women's hand. "Cocoa sounds delightful. Will you show me how you dress yours? I think I am in need for the change, and for once I do not think I will mind the sweet! Never when it is your kind, after all."
