Jisung has been trying to paint his nails for the better part of a half hour. It is frustrating and he sucks at it and it drives him insane. It can’t be that hard to paint a nail. With his off hand. When he’s never done it before. Right?
He could go over to your room and ask if you’d help him. He’s about ninety percent sure you’d do it. The other ten percent are owed to the fact that he is sort of embarrassed. Not because he’s painting his nails – not like you’d ever judge him for that anyways – but because he can’t manage something so simple. So he will try it himself. If it takes him the entire afternoon, fine. It’s not like he has a party to be at. He sighs.
His brow furrows in concentration as he dips the brush into the nail polish and ever so slowly starts applying the liquid to his thumbnail. It’s working. Not perfectly, but he hasn’t slipped yet. He’s almost done, the furrow makes way for a satisfied smile.
Until you knock on his door and startle him so bad he smudges the polish and paints a slash over his finger. He closes his eyes and huffs in frustration.
“I was thinking we could – wow, did they discontinue your favourite anime?”
He sighs. The heat is already creeping up his cheeks.
“I’m-trying-to-paint-my-nails-and-it-doesn’t-work-could-you-help-me-please”, he mumbles, one word. You chuckle and he braces for the inevitable embarrassment, but then you smile at him, all affection, no snark, and he relaxes a bit.
