behold and undertake (my love) chapter 6 now up! https://archiveofourown.org/works/14899730/chapters/37694954
for ship ask: American Arrow :P
The ship is my:
I consider this ship’s feelings: Mutual | Mixed | Strange | Awkward | Platonic | Sibling-like | One-sided | They don’t really like each other |
I’d consider the relationship: Healthy | Awkward | Abusive | Doesn’t work properly | They’d never get together |
Children: No | Yes | They’d think about it
General Opinion: This was my second big ship. I really got into this. I love the play between their personalities. I love the idea of Steve and Clint sort of fitting in together, both seasoned fighters, both incorrigible hot heads, both of them struggling with impostor syndrome. I love it in the MCU, I love it in the comics. I really love the idea of Clint not understanding what it is Steve sees in him, and Steve steadfastly showing Clint that he is so much more than he gives himself credit for. I love the idea of Clint holding Steve accountable, and calling him on his shit, and sitting for drawings, and making far too much coffee. I love this pairing. I love them.
It’s Father’s Day
So please take a moment to imagine Clint Barton and Steve Rogers as dads, either separately or as a couple :)
You’re welcome!
kurt-banged-her replied to your post: Somebody ship Clint/Steve with me!

I wish we got to see Steve’s reaction to Clint's deafness
Hell I wish we got more exploration of Clint and Steve’s relationship in general. There’s a lot of untapped potential there. Like, Clint lives in a run down Brooklyn apartment defending its low income residents and Steve grew up in a Brooklyn tenement in the Great Depression. Clint’s deaf and Steve had all those health issues and disabilities before the serum-has anyone other than me noticed the parallel?
Really, it’s just as interesting a dynamic as Steve/Tony and twice as healthy.
Stupid Whedon and his Stupid Hawkeye's Farm Scene making me think about AoU
Like I see a lot of people being all "LOL, Clint Bought a farm!" But I don't know if he bought it?
Like, what if it's his family's farm? He was born in Iowa after all, I just always assumed that meant he grew up in cornfields (like Clark!)
But just imagine that it's his family's farm and he's kept it all these years as sort of a shrine to the innocent childhood he never got to have. And what if he tells Steve this, and Steve is all "look Clint, I of all people understand how tempting it is to live in the past, but if you do that you'll miss out on everything life has to offer, yada yada yada..."
Then Steve puts his hand on Clint's in a comforting way, then they look into each other's eyes, then they lean in slowly, slowly. And then they're making out. And that's it, Ultron and Tony were just red herrings and the actual plot of the movie is an ex-carney and a man out of time finding love in the most unexpected place.
I really wanted to reblog tons of amazing Clint/Steve fan art today
But then I remembered, nobody ships this. So here I am, trapped in an unpopular ship...
