The aftermath of her fight with Amelia, of her trying to hide that fact from Caleb, had turned out to be worse than Rose could have anticipated. She sulked in her room for as long as her body would allow until she became restless, and returned to work with less enthusiasm than she normally had for her students. Over that time, she managed to work out that she would have felt just the same betrayal if the roles had been reversed, and she resisted the urge to visit Caleb. He needed his time alone, and when he’d had enough, he would come back. She knew this was only a bump in what would hopefully be a very long road. She had the next day off, so instead of wallowing in the empty apartment ---save for Chloe, of course, who she’d come to appreciate all the more recently--- Rose decided to enjoy her drinks at a bar. Somewhere a little less... sad, she figured.
It seemed that plenty of others had the same idea as her ---the place was packed, and Amelia was seated at the bar near the only open seat. Rose sat herself at a table, doing her best not to stare at the back of the blonde head of hair. After too long of not being served and a moment of consideration, Rose made her way to the last open seat at the bar, as quiet and unobtrusive as possible. After ordering her drink, she spoke a soft, “Hello,” to the blonde vampire sat beside her. Her eyes were glued to the bar shelves in front of them, unable to look at Amelia just yet.
