House Mystery/House Purson
Been getting into the occult for my writing lately, and decided to sort all seventy two lesser keys of Solomon. I call them nephalim instead of demons.
I took a modern spin with them, their appearance influenced by humans of today, rather than archaic ideas.
Purson
Their source material described an 'aerial' body, so I took that and ran with a UFO sort of theme with them, the stars that make them represent their subordinates of their house.
Aim
When I read Aim's source material, I knew I wanted to portray them as the modern revolutionist, their source material also described one of their forms as a cat, and knowing how people are nowadays, I know people would slap cat ears and a tail on them, so I did.
Other inspirations include Luigi (you-know-who) and the protester gear of Hong Kong protesters, complete with the goggles.
Finally, the calf represents that citizens must carry revolution, collectively, upon their backs, as the source material stated Aim does ride a calf, and the weight of revolution is a heavy, but necessary burden.
Amdudsias
Amdudsias' source material likened them to storms and music, I recalled a mythical creature with a single, branching horn, and when the wind blew through it, it would play music, I believe it came from the middle east, but I can't remember if it was a horse or a rabbit, and Google hasn't been helpful in retrieving this information either.
Regardless, I thought it perfect to liken the blowing of wind to make sound, to Amdudsias, among that, I made their mane and tail the aurora borealis.
Ourobas
I made an effort to make Ourobas resemble a more prehistoric horse than any, modern living horses.
When I draw the nephalim or their animal companions, I try to make them look... Off, in subtle ways, like, at first glance you wouldn't notice, but you would do a double take.
Ourobas is that, with unicorn horns, a staple of House Mystery, their primordial form, and their leopard genetics, and the final touch being that I used the charcoal brushes for their line-art and colouring.
Aamon
I don't really have much to say about Aamon, other than that I feel that I've canonized that their role in House Mystery is with language and mysteries of the verbal kind, stuff like secrets and unspoken truths.
Furfur
Due to the number of earls in the lesser key, I had to settle with each house except for Asmodius sharing an earl, and so, Furfur is shared with House Primal/House Vine. I recall first getting into the lesser key, when my more well versed friend assured me, that Furfur was the name of a real demon, and I didn't believe him, prompting me to look it up.
I've gotten conflicting information on wether Furfur is a complete liar, no matter what you do, so for now, I'll assume and write that they're a liar a majority of the time.
Ose
Finally, there's Ose, I decided to make Ose a snow leopard cus, why not? Ose gives me "I'm tired boss..." energy.
As far as I can tell, Ose is the only nephalim capable of making people mad, which, is honestly a little surprising, so I've written them to be the sort of go-to nephalim for matters of the mind, for better or worse.
