Or else why would you put her in the cab scene in the first place? The narrative gives an unusual focus to her, more than it would give any extra character. There would be no reason to include her other than if she is a prevalent character. Also from what it seems like, R is the only RO that the MC doesn’t already know, so introducing her at the beginning of the IF makes perfect sense. (I’ve analyzed far too many books, fear me)
