"What process might have created these ridged forms? This observation is located to the southwest of Olympus Mons, in the area that surrounds the giant volcano before start of the lower elevation plain known as Amazonis Planitia. Some of the blueish material in the enhanced color part might represent basaltic (volcanic) sand that is still lingering on the crests of the ridges.
