What's this image, I pulled back on the focal length to include some of the nearby surrounding landscape with the plant-life, as well as a backdrop of ridges and peaks of the Amargosa Range.

With this image, I decided to focus on the contrast of shades and tones with the brighter colors present in the nearby sands, with that of the darker tones present on the ridges and peaks of Tucki Mountain and the Panamint Range.

Telescope Peak is one of the distant peaks I identified and is in Death Valley National Park.

High Adventures in Death Valley National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the west while taking in views amongst large rock formations with a look down into the basin and valley and then to the snowcapped peaks of the Panamint Range. This is in Death Valley National Park while walking along the Dantes View Trail. Here I decided to take advantage of the layers present with the nearby rock formations in the foreground and then the view beyond to more distant peaks. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 6 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.
