*cracks knuckles* i’m so glad you asked bc this fic is my baby. it’s my white collar inspired au with con artist james and he is !!!!! to me. sort of a jack of all trades when it comes to crime. the lore runs deep but i wont get into it here. just know there's crime, treasure, heists, lies, etc etc. and it starts with james escaping from prison.

and here’s a lil snippet from the first chapter:

"Hi, Remus." Remus shakes his head, a mix of amusement and annoyance on his face. "Hi, James. Long time." "Four years," James replies, his voice still thick. "Almost. You didn't quite make it to four." James nods, not bothering to rise from his seat on the dusty floor. "You got any weapons on you?" Remus asks. James smiles, though it’s more tired than anything. "Oh, come on, you know weapons aren’t my style." “True.” Remus pauses, his gaze pressing down on James like a physical weight. Remus always had a way of pinning James in place, making him feel exposed in a way no one else could. “You were so close, James. They’re going to tack on four more years for this.” “I know.” “So why now?” James shifts uncomfortably, Remus’ question lingering in the air. "Did you know they’re tearing this place down?" “No, I didn’t. Not until we found out you’d escaped. I know it’s the first place you lived when you came to New York, but even so, why does it matter to you so much that you’d get yourself a whole new prison sentence just to come back one last time?” James bites his lip, his gaze dropping to the box in his hands and grip tightening. “I needed to get this.” “And what’s in it?” “The only things I have left.”
