Look at her. Slut. Skank. Sleazy ho’.
Look at him. Lothario. F**k boy. Gigolo.

De-condition your mind of the disease that renders you helpless
The mindless puppet of others. Limp, and easily manipulated by thoughts that do not belong to you
Shake your head vigorously. Rub your eyes of all that that clouds your vision
Strip me down to my bones
And you will find out that
Beneath it all, I am more like you than you realize
I am trying to make ends meet. I am passionate. I am here
I am the product of all my decisions, and then some. I am a force of nature
Decisions made by a system so poisoned and corrupt, and
Dictated by those playing Russian roulette with our lives as we fall into line, one at a time
“Run little deviant. Run as fast as you can”
Condemning me for my “lifestyle” without an ounce of understanding
It’s sad how some people are willing to deny anything, if it threatens to change everything
[[ O P E N ]] your eyes and hold onto your judgement
When did my body become something that laws could be placed upon; something that can be criminalized?
Why are you trapped under policies so asinine and people so indisposed to see reality?
Why can’t we celebrate me – my accomplishments, life, or my individuality?
I AM human… or, did you forget?
It may be hard at first, that is, to actually see me
To acknowledge me as a human being, and more than merely my profession
To acknowledge that I deserve safety from the danger that lurks in the shadows
or to acknowledge that I am like you

I am not a sex worker, nor do I know the experiences of one. I can only express empathy and try to understand what it might feel like to live under the current system, therefore, any of what I have expressed above may not be what a sex worker might actually feel.
It is easy to judge people based on what you have been told. You are conditioned to believe a certain way. I am not saying that it is anyone’s fault if they believe a certain way, but rather that you owe it to yourself to look beyond what you have always been told. At first look, you might see what you were lead to believe was reality, but look again. Recognize that you might be living under a system that boasts about the rights given to its people, but suppresses the rights for certain groups of people that they might feel do not belong in our society.
Is “morality” really worth endangering the safety of others? Who is the re-criminalization of sex work benefiting if it is endangering those in the industry? The answer = no one.
