Now for my questions:
What’s your favorite movie genre. Why? My movie taste tends to favor genres like drama, indie films, and cheesy rom-coms. However, my friends have begun to foster my deeper appreciation for action/superhero movies. I don’t really have a favorite genre at the moment. Rather, I absolutely any movie with a great plot, complex characters, and culturally relevant themes. A movie is good in my mind if I can spend the next hour deeply discussing it with someone.
Do you want to get married and/or do you want to have kids? Yes to both.
If you were to write a book, what would it be about? I’d write about all of the random characters and creatures I’ve drawn over the years. I have books full of drawings and illustrations that need stories to accompany them.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? I transitioned from an artist, to an author, to an art teacher, to a regular teacher, and finally to a doctor. Now, it seems I’ve gone full circle with my career aspirations.
If you could meet one person (whether they are still alive or not) who would it be and why? I’d love to meet Sylvia Plath. She’s one of my writing inspirations and I adore her prose and her poetry. She wrote on topics few people would even dare to write about. She challenged the contemporary notions of womanhood. She’s dark and morbid, and usually, there’s so many themes woven into one piece her work is almost indecipherable at times. I know I make tons of jokes about putting my head in the oven when I talk about her as one of my main inspirations, but there is something extremely beautiful and honest that occurs when someone acknowledges their flaws and their troubles for the world to see.
What is your favorite number? Is there a reason it’s your favorite? My favorite number is 5. I was born on the 5th. Two of my closest friends were born on the 5th as well, so it always makes me think of them.
If you could be any animal, what would you be? A bird…possibly an owl
What is your favorite book? When I was younger: Tuck Everlasting Now: The Bell Jar
Best prank you’ve ever pulled. I’m not really one for pranks. However, there was this one time where a friend and I decided to sneak up on another friend who was working late at a fitness center in my hometown. We rode our bikes right up to the glass door to spy on him as he mopped and we basically just creeped on him until he came out of this music induced trance and realized two dark figures were watching him from outside the fitness center. We scared the poop out of him.
What is your favorite meal? Cheese raviolis
Have you ever punched someone? Accidentally. Yes. Back in third grade, I was pretending I was going to punch one of my friends. He moved his face while I was in the middle of the pretend punch, and for once in my life, I had good aim. Punched him right in the nose.
