Please please please don't delete this blog. I just found it through your main and I've literally never seen art like yours. I can't believe how good it is. I don't think I've felt this inspired in years but seeing your art and the flow of your lines and the liveliness of your poses and your perfect construction of forms is really motivating me to get off my butt and draw more again. If you mean the woman herself, idk, she’s quite the recluse. At least for an author of such a relatively popular novel.
For the book: I’d have to read it again because the last time I read it front to back I was a teenager and since then my awareness for a lot of topics has changed but here are some things from the top of my head. Christine is stripped of her autonomy and is basically pining in a twisted way the whole time for Kay’s Erik until self-abandonment even though he treats her pretty cruel at times, Oedipus-complex, Erik’s struggles to not rape, in general a focus on uh Erik’s sexual desires and less on love as a whole (imo), on one hand she makes Erik much darker (he literally makes a pact with the devil) and he’s clearly responsible for a lot of his own misery and hence less tragic but she also romanticizes the hell out of him to the level of a mix of a romance novel lover/Disney prince, the way she portrays Romani people and muslims, and overall sprinkles of misogyny.
I want to thank you for your posts that are positive about the bodies of overweight men. In this era of body positivity, it seems that overweight men continue to be maligned, with the notion of being viewed as attractive in any capacity, romantic or sexual, being dismissed. I'm not saying that being overweight is okay, but I am absolutely saying that making people feel disgusting, unworthy, and awful based on their looks is terrible.
I've been overweight for the majority of my life and it has impacted everything I do, every thought and every action, and that includes how I see my body. My current partner is attracted to overweight men in general and me specifically and having the feeling of knowing that a person finds my body beautiful brings me to tears. Literally. She doesn't see past my body. She sees it and is attracted to it. Not in a fetishy way, but just the way that a regular person gets to feel.
All sorts of people are beautiful.

Yeah, I’m fat too and it often feels like the only way fat people can hope to be loved is either to be loved despite their body or being fetishized for it but not just for themselves, the whole package. But I think there are more people out there who are normal enough to appreciate the whole package than we probably think in bleak moments.
And I think being overweight is ok and normal (though I just prefer the term fat), if it’s unhealthy is individual.
I’m aspec man but a few years ago I realized that at least certain types of fat men are pretty attractive to me. Also not in a fetishy way just, I like how these big men look. I think their shape is beautiful, their presence imposing and masculine and I imagine their bodies are nice and soft. I wish they would get more rep, I have a couple of times whined on here that when I want to see handsome fat men on screen I have to watch old movies where they play dapper villains...

god i just don’t really care that much how cringe i am on here anymore. it’s the only place where i can say how much this man means to me, how i admire him and how much i love him for his weaknesses and his many strengths and how much i just miss knowing him. i never have an urge to actually meet celebrities i like but i deeply miss experiencing this man, having the chance to talk to him, get to know his private sense of humor and learning what he thinks about everything. it’s wonderful to find someone you strongly connect and feel understood by in past history and it’s also tragic.

You know you can agree with takes or certain opinions without agreeing with all beliefs a certain groups holds (or at least the majority)? Like, if you like Hitler’s paintings you still don’t automatically agree with him on the holocaust. And I enjoy some of Roman Polanski’s movies a lot but still think he should be locked up. And yeah, there is a fundamental violence problem with men and I did think the post was half jokey and not 100% dead serious.
