Giorno Dieci- Firenze Pursing with eager feet... where many paths and errands meet// The Hobbit . . . Today was the first day of class! While I was rudely awoken by a positively glacial shower, my first day of class began and ended AMAZINGLY. Last semester pretty much extinguished the fire and passion I had for pursuing Fashion Design, but my Fabric Styling professor is absolutely fantastic, and I’m so happy I didn’t quit, even when I wanted to. Today we talked about moodboards and he has given us free reign to make a moodboard that describes our own aesthetic, and encourages us to use all 5 of the senses. I’ve already started gathering materials and sketching, so next week I hope to explore some more of the local fabric stores for swatches! We’re also designing our own foulards and a swath of fabric. Everything is in centimeters so I’m adjusting, and there’s definitely no Joann’s here so I’m really stoked to explore. After class I got coffee and went material shopping with some of my classmates (some of whom are from Hong Kong and Sweden!!!! So cool). Then I got dinner with my roommate and we booked tickets to go see the Venetian Carnivale on Saturday! Tomorrow is day two of classes and it’s my busiest so my post may be later than expected. #firenze #florence #fashiondesign #fashionstudent #sketching #sketches #florentine #italianfood #italy #alternativedesign #moodboards #traveller #travel (at Trattoria Palle d'Oro)
