While on one hand I understand folks wanting to see more of Yasha in the promotional material for TMN, I feel like folks are forgetting how little she was actually in the campaign before the whole pirate arc and are acting like any changes to the plot mean we're getting less of her... which seems odd to me especially when you take into consideration cuts to the story that'll need to be made for the change in format.
Like...
Trostenwald - is only there to be introduced, isn't really involved in the actual plot aside from the final fight.
Alfield - Wasn't there except for the final fight.
Zadash - Arrives with the group and leaves same episode, only returns when they take the jobs from The Gentleman, misses the whole political arc.
The Gentleman's Jobs - This is the only part of TMN's first arc Yasha is heavily involved in, and aside from her heritage reveal she doesn't really have a lot of personal stakes in this arc (just some early relationship building with Molly and Beau/Trent giving everyone the ick)... also in terms of translating to animation this is one maybe two episodes of content at best... assuming we get Hupperdook.
The Iron Shepherds - Yasha's kidnapped and tortured to kick off this arc and leaves again once rescued because of Molly's death and misses the investigation that leads the team to Nicodranas.
(And some more cuz I wanna illustrate my point)
Nicodranas - Misses weeks of downtime, arriving/meeting Marion and returns just in time to help them take down Algar and accidentally steal the SquBalleater.
Pirates - Technically there for the full arc but Ashley wasn't there to actually roleplay Yasha with the exception of two episodes, so there's little actually done with her character aside from the reveal about Zuala/her Storm Lord combat lessons.
Xorhas - Ashley is still missing up until they actually meet The Bright Queen, missing the entire spying arc with Dairon in Asarius, at which point we get Ashley back long enough for her to actually get to do some character work with Yasha... leading up to the start of The Angel of Irons arc that's the first one Yasha's heavily involved in... because she was kidnapped again.
So like... overall there actually isn't a ton of Yasha in general in the earlier half of the campaign, which means that if they were keeping the story the same, we wouldn't really get a lot of Yasha until the lead up to the Angel of Irons arc.
And, tbh it does seem like they're trying to bait and switch with any new fans making it look like she might be an antagonist. Which is just marketing? Like, it doesn't mean she's gonna suddenly be a completely different character. Considering the trailers heavily featured scenes from the hinted at sessions zeros (which it's been confirmed is where we're starting), it's likely most of the little tidbits we're seeing are from Yasha's first time under Obann's control when she slaughtered the former Skyspear. Either as a memory or as part of the lead up to her and Molly's first meeting.
