Tiger Pistol Shrimp (Alpheus bellulus)
...a species of snapping or pistol shrimp that is native to Indian and central Indo-Pacific waters, and are most common around Sri Lanka. Like most pistol shrimp, tiger pistol shrimp live in symbiosis with several species of goby (commonly C.cinctus A.guttata and S.yasha). These gobies live in the shrimp's burrow and use their eyes to warn the shrimp of danger, in turn the shrimp will maintain the burrow.
A.bellulus feed mostly on other crustaceans and small fish. They are also very popular in the aquarium trade due to the symbiosis they hold and how easy they are to maintain.
