Yaku awoke that morning feeling incredibly sore, his body ached as he moved and shifted in a bed. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he realized this wasn’t his bed nor did the room belong to him. He arched his back and stretched out his tired muscles as he recalled being caught of guard by a surprise heat the previous night.

The heat had to have been triggered by the scent of his boyfriend, Lev. It was because they hadn’t seen each other in weeks, and once they were together, Yaku’s body reacted to him in a feverish way.

Yaku smiled to himself as he slid down the empty bed and eyed the room searching for something to wear. He spotted Lev’s shirt from the previous night on the floor, and since his own clothes were nowhere to be seen he decided to put it on. Lev’s scent was thick on the fabric, and if Yaku wasn’t careful another heat could easily be triggered.

As he walked down the hall, he saw Lev sitting in front of the TV, eating cereal. He turned around and glanced back at him.

“Good morning!” Lev greeted, he blushed at the sight of Yaku wearing his shirt but despite his stammering heart he managed to ask, “Uhhum, are you feeling better?”

“Yes.” Yaku sat down and allowed himself admire Lev, to admire the trail of hickies across his neck and the tiny scratches on his shoulders. Yaku started to feel the pinpricks of fire poking down his back and accompanied with the urge to lick those bruises on his alpha’s neck.

Lev suddenly laughed, spitting out some of the milk, “Oh, you’re going into heat again, ha! I can feel it!”

“Shut up.” Yaku tipped over Lev’s bowl.
