Only a few weeks ago, did Nishinoya discover he was pregnant again, but unlike his other pregnancies, this one was an accident. After he miscarried, him and Asahi had both decided they didn’t want to risk having anymore children. Their conversation was interrupted by their daughter calling them from her bedroom, “DAaaaaaaaaaaa!”

“I’ll get her,” As Nishinoya moved to step off the chair, a dizzying wave of nausea came over him and he froze, “or um…”

Asahi wrapped his arms around Nishinoya’s thighs and lifted him off the chair. Once the omega felt his feet touch the cold kitchen tile, he dashed into the bathroom. Aya called again, and Asahi then made his way into his daughter’s bedroom. She was sitting on her toddler bed and holding a plushie of a chicken that Tanaka had given her.

“Dark.”

“Yeah, it is a little dark in here.” Asahi switched on the light and asked, “Did you have a good nap?”

Aya nodded her head and stretched out her arms toward Asahi, he lifted her up and kissed her on the cheek. As he carried her down the hallway he stopped to knock on the bathroom door, “Everything okay?”

“I’ll be fine…”

“Okay.”

Aya reached out and touched the door the with palm of her hand,“Sick?” she asked Asahi in a whisper.

“Sort of.”

Asahi then sat Aya down on the couch and went to get her some animal crackers and juice. When he turned around he saw Nishinoya standing in hallway, smiling at his daughter, “Hi Aya.” he didn’t want to wander too far from the bathroom just yet.

Aya smiled and waved, then resumed eating her crackers. Asahi approached Nishinoya and hugged him, as much as he enjoyed the attention, he was still a little annoyed by it. Despite being annoyed by his alpha’s anxious emotions, Nishinoya did love Asahi’s hugs, he loved being held in his alpha’s arms, it never failed to make him feel safe. However, the twinge of nervousness that overwhelmed Asahi was still leaking through their bond and it was making Nishinoya feel agitated.

“Asahi,” Nishinoya sighed, “Asahi, stop it.”

“You know I can’t – I’m really, really scared for you.”

“I know you are, but please, just let me do things while I still can.” Nishinoya explained, “Yesterday, you carried me up the stairs to many times – just please, please, let me do what I can while I still can.”

“Yuu, but what if…what if you…?”

“What if I miscarry again?”

Nishinoya yanked on Asahi’s shirt, pulling him down into a quick kiss, “If it happens again, you’ll help me through it, okay?”

Asahi nodded.

“You were strong for me last time, and you took care of Aya when I couldn’t –,” he kissed Asahi again, “But, right now, everything is okay. I’m okay. Our new baby is okay. Everything is okay.”

Asahi allowed himself to smile, and to feel comforted by his husband’s words. Nishinoya could feel his alpha relax and he hugged him.

“Daaa!”

The pair turned their attention to Aya, she waved a hand at them which had the squashed remains of some sort of bug.

“G-good job,” Nishinoya stammered, suddenly feeling sick again and returning to the bathroom.

Nishinoya was sitting in bed, Aya was cradled in his arms and sucking on his left nipple. A gentle smile crossed his face, he loved her more than words could describe. She was best the thing to happen to him since he met Asahi. A protective warmth filled his chest every time she cried for him or Asahi, and he loved her and there wasn’t a day that went by in which he didn’t tell her that.

Nishinoya heard the front door open, it was Asahi, the alpha’s protective scent filled the air along with a nervous twinge pulling at their bond. Asahi was always uneasy about something, and instead of addressing the energy right away, Nishinoya smiled up at him instead.

“I think she’s falling asleep.” Nishinoya whispered.

“You should get some rest too then.” Asahi kissed Nishinoya on the lips, and then kissed Aya on the forehead.

“Only if you promise to sleep with me.” Nishinoya said as he repositioned Aya toward his shoulder. She let out a little whine from being moved, but once he began patting her on the back she quieted down again.

“Of course,” Asahi pulled off his shirt, and questioned, “Hey, did you know Father’s Day is tomorrow?”

Father’s Day wasn’t a day that Nishinoya ever really celebrated, because he grew up without a father and so, he never bothered to keep track of when that day was. Now that he had a child of his own, things were a little different. It might an important day to remember.

“No.” Nishinoya answered honestly.

“I forgot too, but I remembered on the way home and bought you something.”

“But I didn’t…”

“Don’t worry about it,” Asahi climbed into bed and kissed Nishinoya again, “You’ve already done so much for me, and so, um, I’m just going to give it to you now.” Asahi held out a ring box, “I bought you an engagement ring.”

On the day Asahi proposed, he didn’t have a ring to give Nishinoya, mostly because he wasn’t planning on proposing that day. Or any day. Or at all. It wasn’t until Aya was born, and he was alone in the hospital room with Nishinoya, did all the emotions begin to build up and he decided that he wanted to marry his omega.

“Asahi…” Nishinoya stared at the ring, it was a simple silver band but yet far more than he was expecting. Nishinoya’s heart fluttered, “You’re going to make me cry…”

“I’m sorry.”

“No, no it’s okay.”

“Can I put it on you?”

As Asahi stepped into his home, he felt a wave of sorrow sweep through him. It was from Nishinoya, one of the more interesting symptoms of pregnancy was the omega’s mood swings. He was a little more sensitive now, and Asahi had made him cry on a few occasions. The first time was a little jarring, Asahi had made Nishinoya some breakfast and he started crying because it was just so perfect and Asahi was perfect and it was best thing he’d ever tasted and so began the tears.

Bracing himself for an emotional confrontation, Asahi followed Nishinoya’s scent out into their little back yard patio. Nishinoya was sitting on the ground in front of a six inch azlea terra cotta pot. Asahi sighed, he sat down and held onto Nishinoya’s hand, “No you’re not.” he said.

“Yes, yes I am!” Nishinoya sniffed, “I forgot to water the plant and now, look, it’s gonna die and how I am going to take care of a baby if I can’t even take care of a plant?”

Asahi wrapped an arm around Nishinoya and kissed him on the forehead, “I think you’re going to be a wonderful parent.”

“How?” Nishinoya sniffed, wiping the tears from his eyes.

“Do you take all your vitamins every day?”

“Yeah.”

“And do you eat right?”

“Yeah…usually.”

“The baby isn’t even here yet and you’re already doing everything that you can to make sure she develops the way she should.” Asahi kissed Nishinoya on the cheek, he ran the palm of his hand down the curve of his omega’s belly and felt the light kicks of their daughter, “You’re going to be a wonderful parent Nishinoya.”

“You…you really think so?” Nishinoya placed his hand over Asahi’s, and smiled.

Notes: Nishinoya is 32 weeks pregnant with Aya.

When Asahi arrived home he paused, feeling a blush rush to his face and in between his legs at the sight of Nishinoya, who was heavily pregnant and wearing one of his shirts. Normally, the shirt would have stopped at his knees but due to Nishinoya’s current state it stopped in the middle of his thighs.

“Is there a special reason as to why you’re wearing my shirt?”

Nishinoya could feel Asahi’s heart beating wildly in a mixture of desire, the omega smiled, “Everything just fits so tightly, Asahi.” his voice was teasing, he rested his hands on the top of his belly.

Asahi smiled, because he knew Nishinoya did have clothes – but he also knew Nishinoya wore his shirts when he was feeling a little more sexual than usual. Nishinoya struggled for a few more seconds before letting himself go limp in Asahi’s arms. Asahi was gentle with Nishinoya, and carried him toward the edge of the trail. He hugged him tightly, feeling a soft growl vibrate off him.

At Asahi’s touch, Nishinoya’s world suddenly became quiet, the birds no longer chirped, nor did the wind blow. It wasn’t because he couldn’t hear them, but rather, the universe was silenced by the sound of his alpha’s heart beat as he pressed his ear to his chest. Asahi was like a living lightning rod and Nishinoya was the personification of a lightning storm.

“I could have beat his ass, kick him all the way to the goddamn sun.”

“I know you could have, and that’s why I had to stop you.”

They were a lightning rod and lightning.

Nishinoya shifted and straightened his back to look Asahi in the eyes, “Thank you for throwing him off.”

Asahi smiled and pecked a kiss on Nishinoya’s lips, it was a quick but the movement stirred the air around them. Nishinoya caught his boyfriend’s scent, “Wow, you smell really good.”

Asahi blushed and peered away as Nishinoya leaned forward to run his nose on the side of his alpha’s neck. “Yuu…” Asahi lifted his head and met Nishinoya in the eyes.

Nishinoya smiled, he cupped Asahi’s cheeks in his hands and said, “Relax a little, okay?”

Asahi nodded.

“Go get a condom.”

Asahi reached under his bed and grabbed exactly what Nishinoya had asked for, “Are you sure you want to --” “I need you, Asahi.”

Those were the words that broke Asahi time and time again. Need. Need. Need. Nishinoya needed him. Those were the first words he spoke to him during his first heat. He remembered Nishinoya’s voice over the phone it was so delicate and transparent.
