     it hurts to look at him, most days.  a deep ache in his chest, fingers itching to reach out and touch despite knowing it will only serve to prove that eddie isn’t wholly here.  he’s a GHOST, stuck on earth, and choosing to spend his time looking after richie’s dumb ass.  just like when they were kids and eddie would frown at the state of richie’s appearance before patching him up, with a more careful touch than richie felt he deserved.  that was always eddie – his words were sharp, but he had gentle hands.  richie remembers how it felt holding them, seconds away from their descent into the cistern.  a brief moment of warmth, staring into eddie’s eyes the way he only allowed himself to a few times while they were growing up.  i believe in you, i love you, please let that be enough.  richie swallows thickly.
