"Time Is Running Out" is a demo originally recorded by Rivers in 2004 and later released in 2020 as part of his demo collection Alone IX: The Make Believe Years. This track was pretty quick to tab out because its composition is relatively simple, with few improvisations, and progressions which mostly repeat from section to section. I like these simpler demos—they have a kind of earnestness to them, designed to convey a straightforward point (e.g., fear of losing time) and doing it well. The twinkly/atmospheric guitars during the intro, interlude, and ending kind of feel Pinkerton-y to me, and the triplet filled guitar solo (duet) is quite fun to play.
