heyy, so happy you've started a harry potter blog! :) One thing I've always wondered though is why Harry only saw the thestrals in year 4 after he saw Cedric die, but he had seen his parents die when he was young?
I always wondered about that too! Maybe as he was too young to remember it, it didn't count? Or maybe he wasn't directly watching as Voldemort put the curse on Lily, as we know James had already died in another room. I feel like Jo had the concept right from the start (as she did with most things, that clever woman) as she made note of the carriages that 'pulled themselves'.
